The Beginning
Welcome to our web site! We started our business in 1980, when samplers
were hard to find. Having begun my sampler stitching in the mid-1970's,
I felt the need to search for other samplers. In the course of my search,
I started my collection of antique samplers upon which our design company,
Threads
of Gold, was founded in 1992.  While we carry many needlework
designs, our focus is on samplers, both reproductions of antiques and original
designs. We have over 2000 charts and kits, many featuring historical samplers
from textile collections in American and European museums. We also carry
an unusually large selection of linens in many counts and hand-dyed colors,
as well as cotton, silk, and over-dyed specialty thread.  We will continually add designs and stitching supplies of many kinds to this web site.
