Sarah Lambert 1821 Sampler

Sarah Lambert stitched this sampler in 1821 when she was 12 years old. She used cross stitch entirely except for the Algerian eye band. Note that the placement of motifs on each side of the verse are not exactly symmetrical.

The original sampler is in the collection of Threads of Gold. The model was reproduced and stitched by Carol Sessoms on 40 count natural linen from Wichelt, using silk threads.

The Stitch count is 148 by 176. When stitched on 40 count linen, the finished size is 7 1/2 by 8 3/4 inches.
