This sampler, stitched
by 12 year old Polly in 1787, is one of our favorites with its floral borders
that give it an almost Jacobean look. Polly stitched several alphabets and borders, using only seven colors. This is an exact reproduction just as Polly stitched it, including her mistakes. You must follow the chart carefully in order for the borders to fit. Our chart gives the exact count of each satin stitch and how they are placed. The tendrils of the flowers are done in double running stitch. Our model was stitched on 40 count Cottonfields linen. Finished size on 40 count linen: 12" x 12". Chart: $11.00 Kit: $48.00 (silk)/ $32.00 (DMC) |
