Nancy Ann Ramsey 1811 Sampler

This Pennsylvania sampler was finished in 1811 and has soft greens and peaches which were used in many of the Quaker influenced samplers. It may have been stitched by Nancy as a school exercise in one of the Friends schools which existed from New York to Virginia.

This sampler was reproduced and stitched by Edna Medlin on 32 count sandstone linen from Wichelt, using silk floss. The stitch count is 125 by 165. On 32 count linen, the sampler will measure 8 by 10 1/4 inches.
