Jane Buchanan 1818 

Jane stitched her sampler in 1818 when she was twelve years old. Stitches used are cross stitch, queen stitch, a satin sawtooth border, Algerian eye, and some areas cross stitched over one. This reproduction was designed and stitched by Jennett Whiteside.

Our model was stitched using silk thread on 36 count Vintage linen from Wichelt Imports.

Stitch count is 164 wide by 214 high. On 36 count linen, the design measures approximately 9.25 by 12 inches.

Floss required: 

Au ver a soie: 3424, 4136, 4612, 4534, and 2233 and Needlepoint, Inc., silk: 251, 642, 641, 708 and 901. DMC equivalents are also provided.
