This sampler is based on samplers reminiscent of the 18th century, more lighthearted than those of earlier times. The model is worked on 36 count ecru linen, using Soie d'Alger, Perlee, and Gobelin silks. The stitches include cross, satin, double back, rice, Smyrna, four-sided, arrowhead, detached buttonhole, herringbone interweave, and Irish stitch. Detailed instructions and illustrations are given. Stitch count is approximately 166 by 215. On 36 count linen, the design size is about 10 1/2 by 12 1/2 inches. Chart: $15.00 |
