This undated sampler shows a definite Quaker influence and is the second of a pair stitched by Elizabeth Roberts (see Page 5). Improvement of her skills in design and stitching is clearly shown in this later sampler. Typical of most Quaker samplers, this shows her initials as well as those of other family members. You will notice that some of the same motifs are found in Elizabeth's other sampler, Elizabeth I. Our sampler was stitched on 40 count Sandstone from Wichelt Imports, using silk threads, and was hand dyed after stitching. The reproduction and stitching are by Jennett Whiteside of Threads of Gold. The stitch count is 167 by 180. On 40 count linen, the design size is approximately 8 3/8 by 9 inches.
