| Elizabeth stitched
this symmetrical sampler in her 10th year. She used subtle colors and many
motifs reminiscent of American samplers of the 19th century. This sampler
is stitched mostly in cross stitch with part of her name stitched over
one thread. The base of one basket is stitched in satin stitch. Our model
was stitched on 29 count Glenshee linen and was antiqued with walnut shell
dye after finishing. Finished size on 29 count linen: 7 1/4" x 13
3/4".
