Textiles in the Art Institute of Chicago

The Art Institute of Chicago's collection of textiles began in 1890 and includes a wide range of the finest examples of these works. A Coptic hanging depicting a warrior, dating to 5th or 6th century Egypt starts this tour, and it goes on to embroidery, lace, printed fabrics, up to the woven textile art of the 20th century.

Photos are large and clear and the historic descriptions are clear and concise.
