Abby Greene, 1829

This small but charming sampler was stitched by Abby Greene in 1829. She used cross stitch, rice, and over-one cross stitch in her sampler. This sampler bears a slight resemblance to the ones stitched by Ann Green and Mary Green, which are also reproduced by Threads of Gold.

Candi Smith reproduced Abby's sampler and stitched the model. We used 28 count Vintage linen from Wichelt, which we treated with a solution of walnut shells to give the sampler an old look.

Stitch Count: 97 x 98
Finished size on 28 count linen:
7” x 7”.
Chart:  $9.00
